Whitelist

Apply to play here

Black Halo is whitelisted, so everyone here has been read and accepted by a person. It takes about fifteen minutes to write and there is no clever answer — staff are reading for whether you want to play a character, not for keywords.

Before you start

  1. 01

    Read the rules first.

    The last question asks you to confirm you have. Staff cite rule IDs when something goes wrong, so knowing where to find them matters more than memorising them.

  2. 02

    Write it yourself.

    Generated or copied backstories are obvious to read and are declined. A short honest answer beats a long borrowed one.

  3. 03

    One application at a time.

    You cannot submit a second while one is open. If you are declined you are welcome to apply again later.

Seven questions

How staff will reach you. Your username, not your display name.

Yours, not your character’s. Used only to check you are old enough to play here.

The name your character goes by in the city.

Where they came from, what they want, and what they are bad at. This is the part staff actually read — the flaws are usually more interesting than the achievements.

Other servers, tabletop, none at all. "None yet" is a real answer and is not held against you.

What made you pick Black Halo over the other doors you could have knocked on.

Optional. Genuinely useful to us and it has no effect on your application.
